Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Wheeling, WV Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,236 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/12/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: ACLS certification is preferred but not required. Experience with peritoneal dialysis is highly preferred. Description: The unit comprises 52 private beds. Ratios are primarily 1:7 for both Day and Night shifts. Lake a full patient assignment and work with a Clinical Assistant. A Clinical Assistant is available 40 hours per week; half the time on the floor and half in the office. On most shifts, there are 4-6 Certified Nursing Assistants per shift, with a ratio of 1:10-12. Every other weekend is required, with days being Saturday and Sunday for day shift and Friday and Saturday for night shift. Responsibilities include working into the holiday rotation schedule. Scrub colors for Registered Nurses are navy blue tops and bottoms, as well as navy scrub jackets. Remote telemetry is available as needed, but monitored on a different unit. Registered Nurses are not required to read strips, but experience in reading them is welcomed. Drugs used on the unit include Heparin, Lasix (rarely), PCA with MSO4, and possibly an Ativan drip. Vents utilized include Bipap (intermittent only), CPAP, and High Flow. There is a hospitalist in-house 24/7 and an intensivist in the ICU 24/7. An IV team is available in-house 24/7, and there is also a PICC team. Registered Nurses assess their patient's IV sites but do not start their own IVs. Respiratory therapy is in-house 24/7. The pharmacy is also in-house 24/7. Shifts are structured as 12-hour shifts from 0645-1915 and 1845-0715. Staff can submit up to six requests off per six-week schedule. There may be floating opportunities to other MedSurg or MedSurg/Oncology units. Common diagnoses include orthopedic post-ops, basic neuro post-ops, general post-ops, and various medical diagnoses. Hemodialysis is managed on the unit. Patients being tested for COVID typically remain on the unit unless results take longer, in which case they may transfer to another unit.
