Description Mascaro is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the Accounting and Finance team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role is responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, vendor management, reconciliations, tax filings, and general accounting support. The Staff Accountant works closely with Project Accountants and internal departments to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial processes that support employees, vendors, and clients. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism. Roles & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Support Project Accountants with daily accounting and project-related tasks · Process vendor invoices and payments accurately and on time · Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies · Set up and maintain vendor accounts, including W-9 documentation · Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns and assist with 1099 reporting · Maintain accurate financial records and support audits and special projects Supports the department by enhancing technical capabilities and improving system efficiency through proactive identification of workflow improvements · Provide general Accounting and Finance department support, including coordination of documentation and approvals Requirements Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting or finance, with exposure to accounts payable and general ledger functions Construction industry experience preferred Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, accounts payable processes, and vendor management Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy High regard for maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information Strong communication and collaboration skills to support internal teams and external vendors
