Job Description:

Develop new residential mortgage and home equity loans, cultivating relationships with realtors, builders, attorneys, financial advisors and other referral sources. Actively participate in networking events, community outreach, and marketing initiatives to generate new business. Conduct in-depth consultations with borrowers to assess financial needs and recommend appropriate loan products. Gather, analyze, and verify borrower financial documentation to ensure creditworthiness and loan eligibility. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the loan process, from application through closing. Manage an existing loan portfolio, processing renewals and identifying cross-selling opportunities for bank products. Structure loan terms in compliance with internal policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Work closely with Pre-Funding Manager, underwriters, processors, and closers to ensure smooth timely closings. Monitor pipeline activity and proactively address delays or exceptions. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Active NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator license in applicable states. Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and secondary market standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Detailed oriented. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently to achieve goals and objectives. Proficient with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Strong organizational and communication skills are preferred. A valid driver’s license. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITY: This position does not supervise employees. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree 5 years of lending experience and/ or in underwriting mortgages. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to communicate in person, through email or via telephone with customers and staff members. Ability to sit or stand for an extended period.
