Job Description Job Description Position Summary: NECCO is
seeking skilled and mission-driven Contracted Therapists to provide
high-quality mental health services for children and families
involved in foster care. This role includes individual therapy with
youth, support for foster families, and family therapy with
biological parents during reunification and transitional periods.
The Contracted Therapist plays a critical role in supporting
permanency, emotional stability, and overall well-being for the
children and families served. Key Responsibilities: Clinical
Service Delivery Provide individual therapy to children and
adolescents placed in foster care, addressing trauma, emotional
regulation, behavioral concerns, and other identified treatment
needs. Deliver therapeutic support and psychoeducation to foster
parents, helping them understand trauma-informed care, attachment
needs, and strategies for supporting youth in placement. Conduct
family therapy sessions with biological parents to support
reunification, healthy attachment, and readiness for transition.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
based on clinical assessments and evidence-based practices.
Maintain timely, complete, and compliant documentation according to
NECCO standards, state regulations, and professional ethics.
Collaborate with case management teams, foster parents, educational
staff, and external providers to ensure coordinated care.
Participate, as needed, in team meetings, case consultations, and
transition conferences. Professional Expectations Maintain active
licensure and appropriate credentials for independent or supervised
clinical practice in the state of service. Uphold trauma-informed,
culturally competent, and family-centered approaches across all
service delivery. Adhere to all confidentiality, ethical, and
regulatory requirements applicable to mental health care and foster
care systems. Provide services in home, office, community, or
virtual settings as clinically appropriate and permitted by policy.
Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage
& Family Therapy Current West Virginia licensure (LPC, LICSW)
Experience working with children, families, trauma, or foster care
populations strongly preferred. Strong communication,
documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to work
independently as a contractor while collaborating within a
multidisciplinary team. Compensation $60.00 per hour for direct
client service time (billable clinical hours). Contractors are
responsible for their own scheduling, insurance, mileage, and tax
obligations as part of independent practice. Contract Structure
This is a 1099 independent contractor role, not an employee
position. Work hours are flexible and based on client need and
availability.
