Job Description:
Primary Function:To recommend and implement repairs for all
types of industrial and rotating equipment, including but not
limited to compressors, turbines, and other equipment. Has the
ability to document, erect, alter, install, align, repair, replace,
disassemble, and reassemble, move and inspect all rotating
equipment, using proper tooling and processes to complete work in a
safe and timely manner to meet customer needs. Has the ability to
plan and oversee repairs with very minimal supervision or feedback.
Helps train other employees in the functions and processes in the
department.The below reflects general details considered necessary
to describe the principal functions of the job identified, and
shall not be construed as a detailed description of all of the work
requirements that may be inherit in the job.Working
Procedures:Promotes safety and quality at all times. Positive
attitude and display of leadership. Flexible and responsive with a
strong teamwork orientation. Maintain a clean and organized work
area. Conducts their self in a professional manner at all times
when working with internal and external customers. Fully capable of
reading and comprehending drawings, sketches, work scopes, and
verbal instructions. Uses appropriate equipment, tooling, drawings,
work scopes, procedures, specifications and documentation to
perform the primary function. Fully capable of altering and
overhauling all rotating equipment needed to complete jobs. Ability
to set up all equipment needed to complete jobs. Fully capable of
accurately assessing and documenting a visual inspection of all
types of rotating equipment and providing a recommendation.
Advanced knowledge and accuracy in using various measuring devices:
micrometers, indicators, calipers, gages, and other required tools
necessary to perform the job. Able to accurately measure and record
all critical clearances and dimensions on turbines, compressors,
and any other equipment necessary. Able to pass annual dimensional
inspection test. Able to understand and process documentation
associated with turbo machinery such as inspection reports, photo
logs, and hold tags. Advance knowledge of lifting, rigging, crane
and forklift operations.Daily Duties:All compressor work -
disassembly/reassemblyAll rotor work:De-stacking/reswork Turbine
and tacking/balancingBuilding discs and reversersPeeningFinal
assembly any type of rotating equipmentWelding - 5 years' relevant
experience. Will consider candidates with less years of
experience.- Rotating equipment is required including turbines
and/or compressors.- Candidate must be willing to multitask.
Welding experience preferred.- Ability to work off-turns, nights,
weekends (3pm to 11pm) based on customer demands- Mechanical
aptitude- Ideally candidate should have their own tools (desired)
OD, ID mic's, measuring equipment experience - candidate will be
responsible for incoming inspections, report taking (inspection
forms, document findings w/ digital camera, visual inspections,
dimensional inspections)
