Role Description:    

This individual is responsible for operating, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing equipment on all presses. They are also responsible for maintaining all quality, production, and safety goals. 



Key Responsibilities:  

  • Operate, set up, maintain, repair, adjust, service and overhaul all presses. 

  • Perform die changes 

  • Quality control (must know all defects and frequently monitor the product criteria). 

  • Read and comprehend Work Instructions and SOP’s 

  • Maintain all production, inspection, quality, and safety reports for shift. 

  • Read and comprehend manuals. 

  • Safety check equipment at the beginning of the shift. 

  • Housekeeping 

  • Relieve other department personnel as necessary. 

  • Change compound drum as necessary. 


Key Competencies 

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following: 


  • Working knowledge of measuring devices 

  • In depth knowledge of department operations 

  • Ability to assist in the writing of SOP’s and Safe Practices 

  • Safe operation of equipment 

  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. 

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Working knowledge of small hand tools. 

  • Communicate with others within and outside the department. 

  • Able to read and interpret written information 

  • Utilize problem solving techniques 

  • Employee must be punctual and reliable. 




  • High School Diploma/ GED is required 

  • Experience in running manufacturing equipment is required 

  • Must be able to complete the M/O Trainee Program within 12 months of hire 

  • Basic computer skills are required 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products 

  • Experience with SAP is preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in confined spaces.  The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 75 pounds and frequently lift between 1- 50 pounds with assistive devices and methods as required.  There is no continual lifting.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision as well as color recognition.  Good hand eye coordination is necessary.   Occasionally 1-33%, frequently 34-66% and continuously 67-100% of the time.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is very loud.  Employees must wear hearing protection and all other assigned Personal Protective Equipment.  Temperature can range from extreme cold (<40 degrees) to extreme heat (>90 degrees).  The atmosphere contains fumes, dust and odors.   


Special Hazards: 


  • Exposure to pinch points, cuts, air spray paint, bruises, metal dust and forced air.
