The role of Inclusion and Diversity Coordinator will support AEO's drive to achieve our inclusion and diversity goals and create a more inclusive community for our associates. AEO is seeking candidates whose education, perspectives, and experience enable them to support AEO's inclusion and diversity initiatives to create a welcoming and respectful environment that embraces diversity as a dimension of excellence, and promotes a culture of openness and inclusion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate passion in advancing inclusion and diversity initiatives and programs within an organization and show aptitude for talent acquisition, external relations, communications, education and development.


  • Support AEO's goals and objectives for Inclusion & Diversity in the three pillars of Hiring, Culture and Development.
  • Support I&D strategic initiatives and create action plans for execution and accountability. Utilize tools and resources to support execution of these strategies
  • Provide centralized support for Network and Connection groups (AEO's affinity and employee resource groups), leadership, and both internal and external stakeholders for inclusion and diversity.
  • Support business partners in executing action plans for their areas and work with HR Business Partners to support I&D initiatives happening throughout the business
  • Support and coordinate I&D communication through emails, formal announcements, AEO Real News stories, and newsletters to raise awareness around I&D initiatives
  • Coordinate and support events and programming (both in-person and virtually) to advance I&D mission and goals.
  • Manage administrative details of I&D initiatives, events, communication, and record-keeping
  • Provide frontline support to associates seeking information on AEO's Inclusion & Diversity programs, events and initiatives
  • Maintain records of Network and Connection membership and key internal and external contact information for AEO's I&D efforts
  • Supporting onboarding by making connections with new associates, creating awareness to AEO's I&D efforts, and providing pathways for associates to get involved
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience working on inclusion and diversity topics or transferable skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and business writing communication skills, including a strong telephone presence and confidence.
  • Travel may be required
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong creative, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
