relationships we forge. Survey Crew Chiefs perform exact
measurements to determine property boundaries. Provide data
relevant to the shape, contour, gravitation, location, elevation,
or dimension of land or land features on or near the earth's
surface for engineering, mapmaking, mining, land evaluation,
construction and other purposes. Responsible for conducting land
surveys adhering to standards and practices of modern surveying.
Supervise survey technician(s). Perform survey computations,
including level note reduction, traverse calculations and
calculations for construction layouts. Adjust survey instruments.
Make proper entries in survey field books Red and interpret
property descriptions, right-of-ways maps and other engineering
related blue prints. Performs GPS data acquisition, topographic
field surveys and boundary surveys. Assist in the review of
property and right-of-way descriptions prepared for various
functions. Research to acquire survey records and information.
Generate survey drawings through the use of computer software and
plotters. Communicate surveying needs to Survey Project Managers
(s) as necessary Adhere to all applicable safety procedures.
PM19Demonstrate extensive knowledge of surveying operations and
procedures and the principles, practices and techniques of field
surveying. Possesses a basic knowledge of mathematics through
trigonometry and its application to surveying computations.
Possesses a considerable knowledge of civil engineering and
construction specifications and plans related to field surveying.
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Bachelor of Science in Land
Surveying 1 - 5 Years of Experience in Surveying Professional
Surveyors License Working Conditions: Survey Crew Chiefs must be
able to work indoors as well as outdoors in all types of weather
conditions. Physical Requirements: Survey Crew Chiefs must have the
physical ability to walk rugged terrain, for extended periods of
