As a member of Lucasrsquo Product Development Group, you will lead a smaller but growing machine learning team and work in collaboration with some of the brightest, most talented software engineers in Pittsburgh. Primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our suite of products which will include predictive analytics. You will help define a roadmap of use cases and applications of this data that can be productized for the market as part of the entire Lucas platform and experience. The Lead Data Scientist will be responsible for Building, leading, and mentoring a small but growing team of data scientists who use analytic methods and tools to explore and create high quality solutions that can be incorporated into Lucas products or spawn new products. Hands-on development of algorithms, writing scripts, building predictive analytics, using automation, applying machine learning, and using the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to help Lucasrsquo customers make informed decisions. Building scalable and reusable data science components, maintaining and evolving models, and tracking overall performance. Actively engaging with domain experts and customers to understand the challenges that exist within the Supply Chain - Warehousing and Distribution space. Working with product development team members to bring high integrity, analytic solutions that align with organizational and revenue goals to market. Being the resident advisor to cross-functional teams with regard to analysis, insights and statistical methodologies. Clearly articulating the same to a wider audience as well e.g., presenting at trade shows, writing white papers and blogs, etc. Requirements M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics Statistics or equivalent in a related, quantitative field. Ideally, 7 years of production level experience in developing deep learning algorithms and technologies along with 2 years in a lead supervisory role. Proven experience setting vision and strategy while building and developing a high-performing team. Inspires a culture of innovation by staying up-to-date on trends and developments in deep learning. Experience with at least one major deep learning framework (TensorFlow, Caffe, Theano, Torch, CNTK, MxNet). Strong knowledge of deep learning theory (CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, etc.). Strong Python programming experience. Hands on experience with statistical modeling and machine learning software e.g., SAS, SPSS, Python statistical and ML libraries, R, etc. Experience with database technologies and modeling e.g. SQL, no-SQL, graph databases. Experience with cloud-based solutions, preferably Azure andor AWS. Experience with containerized solutions (DockerKubernetes) Biased toward action. Do what it takes to ramp up and solve problems quickly. Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to make informed decisions and act on them. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex ideas to various groups. Commitment to producing high quality, well-designed and flexible solutions. Additional Valued Experience Additional programming languages. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or other supply chain software solutions. Experience with FoundationDB or other tools for time series data Experience with customer interaction to discuss requirements and use cases.
