Reports to the RN Research Lead and provides research
coordination in a comprehensive clinical/ research environment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs
and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention

Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence
Carry out all aspects of Clinical Research studies and projects,
including: Schedule appointments for patient research study visits.
Coordinate recruitment of research subjects. Obtain informed
consent and maintain confidential files for all subjects enrolled
on studies. Complete clinical assessments and brief patient
evaluations for each visit.
Provide timely, organized approach to obtaining laboratory tests
for research projects.
Assist in coordination of projects with University, ITxM,
sponsoring agencies, pharmaceuticals, NIH, governmental
Coordinate research visits with the UPMC research facilities
(GCRC and IDS).
Perform all tasks required for research visits. Assist
Research Coordinator as needed for RN licensed procedures.
Maintain drug accountability. Maintain timely and orderly blood
sample storage in scientific study freezers.
Complete electronic diary and CRF submissions as required for

Attend meetings related to research protocols locally and with

timely phone follow up. Meet regularly with the Center Director to
review progress and issues on active research projects. Attend NHF
Annual Meeting/professional development/continuing educational
activities. Present annual research conference.
Provide preliminary and final written reports on all projects to
the Center Director. Maintain an updated Procedure Manual of all
projects which clearly indicates what should be done when and by
what method, updating as necessary. Maintain certifications needed
for positions ( Ethics modules, Dangerous Goods Shipment, Etc.)
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as
High School Diploma is required.
A bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
Active Nursing license in the State of PA is required.
Two years' experience hands-on nursing, including venipuncture
and/or phlebotomy skills required.
One to two years research experience required.
Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform
all assigned duties and responsibilities.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and to collaborate as a member of
a multidisciplinary health care team.
Ability to carry out all aspects of research as a
