This job is a key leadership role within the Product organization. The incumbent manages all aspects of product strategy and implementation across specific product categories and/or business segments, grounding the strategic direction of the product portfolio in market and customer analytics/insights and product/enterprise economics. This job includes perspectives on all aspects of product - networks, benefit designs, engagement, clinical services, pricing strategy, distribution, etc. The roadmap is informed by market demand, competitor positioning and strategies, emerging innovations, product performance, enterprise strategies and economics, and other factors. Working closely with the Market Strategy team as well as the P&L leadership, this role ensures that the current and future product portfolio and capabilities meet both the needs of the market as well as achieves the health plan and enterprise business objectives. The Product Strategy team closely monitors and addresses product performance and the levers impacting performance. Reviews product performance reports and dashboards with P&L leadership and other internal/external stakeholders. Partners with HMHS to translate business requirements for products and capabilities into technical requirements/specifications through solutioning and delivery processes, including RFS, HLVS, solution package, business case and requirements documentation. Business ownership of product-related solutioning and delivery governance, reporting and change management, which may include Agile framework.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Work collaboratively with P&L leadership, responsible for developing and maintaining product portfolio strategy that will enable the Organization to achieve health plan and enterprise membership and financial objectives in specific product categories and/or segments. Product analytics and insights will inform annual and multi-year product strategy roadmaps and capability investments addressing network, benefits, clinical services, and member engagement. Possess knowledge of current and emerging legal and regulatory issues. Responsible for ensuring alignment with pharmacy and ancillary (vision, dental) product strategies in product categories and segments.

Partner with HMHS to translate business requirements for products and capabilities into technical requirements/specifications through solutioning and delivery processes, including RFS, HLVS, solution package, business case and requirements documentation. Business ownership of product-related solutioning and delivery governance, reporting and change management, which may include Agile framework.

Work with Market Strategy, P&L, actuary and finance, to develop market segment targets for product performance against membership and financial objectives. Review product performance reports and dashboards with P&L leadership across segments and work with matrix partners to investigate performance drivers and identify complex market strategy/business line issues. Actively monitor developments in the market and work with the Market Strategy team to evaluate, pilot, test, and implement new product innovations. Success in this space will require an understanding of external market trends, innovations from other health plans, and new vendors and startups.

Exercise strong "matrix management" leadership skills and build strong relationships with colleagues and business partners across the Health Plan, AHN and HMHS to achieve success of the product strategy and implementation.

Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develops and implements policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field

EXPERIENCE

Minimum

7 years of experience with deep breadth and depth of business knowledge across relevant functions (product, marketing, operations, etc.) in healthcare or similarly regulated product industries
