Description Position Summary The Transportation Procurement / Carrier Sourcing Coordinator supports the logistics team by helping build and maintain a reliable carrier network. This role focuses on assisting with carrier onboarding, gathering rates, researching market trends, and helping secure capacity for daily freight needs. Key Responsibilities Assist with sourcing and onboarding new carriers Collect rate quotes and support basic rate negotiations Help maintain carrier lists, routing guides, and required documentation Support team members during RFPs, mini-bids, and other carrier sourcing projects Research market conditions and provide simple pricing updates to the team Monitor carrier performance data such as on-time pickup/delivery Communicate with carriers to resolve minor service issues Ensure required carrier documents (insurance, safety info, etc.) are up to date Support continuous improvement efforts within the carrier network Qualifications Required Qualifications Interest in transportation, logistics, or supply chain Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to analyze basic freight or pricing data Comfortable working in Excel and learning TMS platforms Strong attention to detail and organization Preferred Qualifications Experience in a logistics, customer service, or operations role Familiarity with freight terminology (truckload, LTL, spot market, etc.) Exposure to carrier interactions or load boards (helpful but not required) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Carrier coverage on assigned loads Timely and accurate rate collection Documentation accuracy and compliance Support for margin and cost targets On-time pickup/delivery performance Carrier engagement and responsiveness Core Competencies Curiosity about transportation and market trends Relationship building and clear communication Basic negotiation skills Team collaboration Problem-solving and adaptability Benefits of Working with Us: Competitive base salary Opportunities for advancement within a growing national organization Collaborative, energetic team culture Full suite of benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) MODE Global is the 5th largest truckload broker and largest non-asset intermodal provider in North America.
