Marathon Petroleum Corporation, a leading petroleum refining, marketing, and transportation company, is seeking a dedicated Marine Tankerman to join our maritime operations team. This role is crucial for the safe and efficient transportation of petroleum products across our extensive network. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the handling of cargo, the operation of transfer equipment, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Working with Marathon Petroleum, you will be part of a team that fuels America, and you will contribute directly to the company's legacy of quality and safety. Operate transfer equipment to load and unload petroleum products to and from vessels and terminals. Monitor product transfer process to ensure safety and efficiency while adhering to environmental regulations. Maintain equipment in functional condition, conducting regular checks and coordinating maintenance when necessary. Record and report cargo quantities and transfers, maintaining accurate logs of all operations. Participate in safety drills and training sessions, and continuously apply best safety practices. Collaborate with maritime and shore-based teams to optimize loading and unloading schedules. Proficient in the operation of all equipment necessary for the transfer of petroleum and liquid cargoes. Strong understanding of MARPOL/IMO regulations and compliance. Ability to work long hours in different weather conditions and to respond effectively to emergencies. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
