currently in search of an IT Business Architect – Data & Frontline
Digital Solutions to join our Global Information Services (GIS)
Resource Unit at the Howmet Corporate Center in Pittsburgh, PA. The
position will report into the Senior Director, Corporate
Applications and be part of the Architect team that strives to
provide value-add business-driven solutions, through the leverage
of right technologies. This role will be capable of building strong
relationships across the business, as well as serving as an
advocate for technology with BU/RU leadership. Major Activities:
The IT business architect clarifies strategic intentions,
identifies business outcomes, explores implications, impact, risks,
and addresses stakeholders’ questions. Proactively and holistically
leads and supports information technology strategic initiatives
that align with business goals and shape business models - people,
processes, technologies and data. Helps business leaders and end
users understand, apply, evaluate, and operationalize existing,
new, and emerging technologies to transform and optimize business
and operating models Works closely with business functional areas
and IT delivery teams to define and architect data environments to
meet reporting and analytical needs for consumers, developers, and
business analysts that consider value, volume, velocity, and
variety. Create alignment with HR leadership, HR technology, and IT
delivery teams to assess, evaluate, design and operationalize a
digital strategy for Frontline workers Responsibilities: Conduct
interviews and analyze existing processes to improve HR processes
and the organization’s data culture to drive towards strategic
goals and targeted business outcomes, while considering IT
investment priorities Translate complex concepts into actionable
deliverables to move the business toward realizing its strategic
goals and targeted business outcomes. Continuous knowledge
development of business capabilities, business processes,
technology capabilities and standards for applicability and
feasibility assessments Use the organization’s existing business
and operating model as the starting point for innovation, for
example, by using new technologies to enhance, enable and extend as
a building block Research and provide consultation on emerging
technology trends and disruptions and competitors' practices
relevant to assigned business process/functions representatives
Collaborate with the IT PMO on benefits, issues, risks of
initiatives and reporting project status Analyze and anticipate
project and product needs and determine resources needed to meet
objectives and solve problems Capture business needs and
collaborate with other IT thought leaders on solutions Question and
challenge legacy assumptions, navigate ambiguity, and maintain a
holistic or big picture view of the organization’s strategic
landscape Convey complex technical solutions to various cross
functional roles in the company for alignment, adoption, and
measurable impact Collaborate with the business stakeholders and
vendors to design strategic data solutions, data architectures, and
data stores that meet business objectives, promote standardization,
and enable usage Prepare data architectures that can be
transitioned to delivery teams for development and implementation
in collaboration with technologists, cloud infrastructure leads,
and application architects Conduct research and make
recommendations on data lake products, services, protocols, and
standards Define the strategic plan, technologies, and project
roadmaps for leveraging data Define and recommend digital solutions
designed to fit the daily work and challenges of the workers who
are directly involved in manufacturing to improve administrative
processes Define a strategic plan, technologies and project
roadmaps for providing digital solutions for frontline workers to
meet the business’ objectives for employee engagement Facilitate
and collaborate with Howmet stakeholders involved in digital
strategy and innovation to drive adoption of business process
changes and new or existing technologies Consult with subject
matter experts to develop technical solutions. Advise on options,
risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business
processes and system priorities Qualifications Basic
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or
eight (8) years of additional experience in Information Technology
accepted in lieu of a degree Minimum of eight (8) years of business
or IT experience with direct responsibility for strategy
formulation, business analytics, or program management Employees
must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time
of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of data technologies including
but not limited to data integration and harmonization strategies,
data lake and warehouse designs, and operationalizing data flows.
Experience in Data Driven initiatives, data architect frameworks,
and integration strategies Experience as an IT architect delivering
solutions to diverse and complex business opportunities Ability to
leverage existing, new, and emerging technologies to apply them to
new business designs and business models to achieve targeted
business outcomes Experience with organization change management
Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original
concepts and theories for a variety of projects Ability to
communicate, influence and persuade — both business and IT leaders,
stakeholders, and peers. Location This will be hybrid role with a 3
day in office expectation here at our Corporate Center in
Pittsburgh, PA. There is a potential for up to 10% domestic travel.
