They facilitate Scrum-related rituals and events to keep the Squad on-track with their goals and objectives. A Scrum Master is vital to a Scrum team because they facilitate the Squad's progress toward their goals while actively challenging old norms. They eliminate impediments by actively addressing and escalating issues to keep the Squad focused on achieving objectives. They create and track metrics to provide Squads and the organization with relevant feedback on progress. They will also be contributing to the global growth of -Agile alongside segment Agile -Centres -of Excellence (COEs) -who provide -localized -coaching -and transformation enablement.Responsibilities:Proactively focus on delivering outcomes and remove obstacles for the Squad, escalating when necessary; including resourcing, staffing, interdependencies and decisionsSupport and model appropriate practices to continuously improve Squad performanceAct as a servant leader in coaching the Squad on advanced principles & practices of agility, from writing useful initiative and feature statements to assisting the Lead Product Owner in management of the backlogPartner with the Lead Product Owner to enable the delivery of initiatives, features and enablersFoster a collaborative culture, ensuring the team regularly celebrates success and learns from improvement opportunitiesFacilitate team and stakeholder meetings and manage related logistics including Agile eventsGuide and empower the flow of cross-functional initiative and feature teams, providing a clear view of successCollaborate with the Lead Product Owner, engineers, and engineering leadership to uncover pain points and opportunities to accelerate the delivery of new valueLeverage the transparency mindset in enabling continuous visibility of all goals/objectives, dependencies, value work, impediments and continuous improvement metricsAct as mentor and coach for the organization by contributing thought-leading content to large events such as workshops and town halls, leveraging Alignment, Outcome Thinking, Transparency, and Flow of Value mindsetsJob Requirements:Certified Scrum MasterMinimum of 10+ years of experience in a Scrum Master or Agile Coach roleExcellent knowledge of Agile frameworks and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, LeanKit)An entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment, with an emphasis on innovationStrong stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable in challenging leadership and peersExcellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to deliver on expected outcomes at scaleUnderstands flow metrics and forecasting techniques to enable release planningExcellent analytical skills, copes with complex situations through deliberate analysis and planningStrong coaching mindset and abilities; enabling growth of team members and Delivery LeadsObsessive about continuous improvement - Real passion for driving Squads towards high performance and a deep pride in quality craftsmanship that delights usersStrong verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomesExcellent knowledge of digital enterprise enablement technologies and practicesExperience in Financial Services/Insurance is an assetData, NPS and customer analytics experience is an assetEvery career at Manulife/John Hancock provides the opportunity to learn new skills and move your career forward.
