Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The HR Generalist position is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with Director of HR in the administration of employee relations, safety, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance. Essential Responsibilities: Facilitates recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel & temporary employees. Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for the fulfillment of open positions; Ensures compliancy with federal and state regulations including FML, I9, EEOC and DOL; Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law; Act as liaison and coordinate employee FML & STD leaves; Maintains and ensures compliancy of Driver Files and DOT required documents; Administer and interpret HR policies and procedures. Serves as a resource to management when dealing with difficult or sensitive employee issues; Manages the new hire process for all new employees, including offer letters, background checks, drug tests, new hire paperwork and onboarding; Research and apply for manufacturing and other grants and/or training reimbursement; Assists in organizational training and development efforts; maintains employee training records database and works directly with Manufacturing Instructor and Leadership to identify and facilitate training; Manages company-wide performance review program; Promotes wellness and works with insurance companies and the workforce in delivering positive solutions in this area; Oversees the planning and executing of company social functions and employee events; Assist Human Resource Director with personnel folders, attendance reports, job descriptions, various HR related administrative tasks with additional responsibilities as assigned; Adhere to Employee---s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus--- Health & Safety Policy. Additional Skills & Responsibilities: Bachelor---s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field is preferred with a minimum of three years Human Resources experience; Knowledge of OSHA compliance a plus; A thorough knowledge of employment-related law and the corresponding regulations; Proficient with ADP Workforce Now required; Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to positively interact with diverse personalities; Strong organizational skills; Must be flexible and able to manage multiple projects as required; Strong PC skills including Microsoft package; Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas); Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing; Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results) Equal Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Women/Disabilities/Protected Veterans
