Job Description ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wheeling, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit/n/n Location/n Not specified /n/nAssignment Duration/n This is a 13-week contract position. /n/nSchedule/n 12-hour day/night rotating shifts, weekends as scheduled. Shifts run from 7 AM to 7 PM; staff must be on the unit by 6:45 AM/PM. /n/nJob Description/n We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Intermediate Care Unit. The unit consists of 30 beds, including 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, with an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, occasionally 1:6. Nurses will collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists who are in-house 24/7. The role involves managing various patient conditions, including chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, and providing care for patients on medication drips. /n/nResponsibilities/n /n - Administer medications and titrate IV drips, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin. /n - Monitor telemetry strips; RN's must be able to read and interpret their own strips. /n - Provide care and conduct assessments for patients with intermediate care needs. /n - Manage patient care alongside nurse aides and clinical assistants. /n - Participate in patient orientation and training. /n - Float to other units as needed, including Telemetry and MedSurg with ratios up to 1:6. /n /n/nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure/n /n - Current RN license. /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. /n - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. /n - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification. /n /n/nWhy ARMStaffing?/n At ARMStaffing, we take care of our employees!
