Radiology Tech Location: State College, PA Agency: Cynet Health
Pay: $2,034 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract

Radiologic Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty:
Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening shift;
every 3rd weekend Hours per Shift: Guaranteed hours not specified
Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred License: Registered with
the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must-Have:
High school diploma or equivalent Completion of a specialized
training program in Radiological Technology approved by the
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists One year of
experience preferred in performing radiological procedures in a
hospital, clinic, or physician's office Description: Prepare
patients for examinations, explain procedures, and respond to
patient questions. Perform diagnostic procedures for patients as
ordered by physicians. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy,
and physiology is essential. Familiarity with radiologic equipment,
procedures, and safety hazards common to radiology is required.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal
instructions is necessary. Identify and troubleshoot equipment
problems and perform simple adjustments. Essential Functions:
Perform patient care and technical duties in an accurate and timely
manner. Greet each patient in a pleasant manner. Review requests
and evaluate orders for appropriate exams and diagnoses. Always
check for two identifiers: name and date of birth. Explain the
procedure in patient-friendly terms. Contact appropriate
individuals for proper scheduling and orders. Prepare and position
patients for examinations. Utilize proper techniques for patient
positioning during views/examinations. Take accurate images for
examinations. Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR rooms safely and
efficiently. Execute proper startup and shutdown of equipment.
Transfer images to PACS, scan documents, and route them correctly.
Change priority to STAT or URGENT when necessary. Assist
Radiologists and Fluoro Techs during fluoroscopic and special
procedure examinations. Move portable radiographic equipment for
various procedures within the departments. Use proper sterile
techniques during examinations in the operating room. Prepare IV
and oral contrast media for use and administer as needed. Document
patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations, date, time of
study, and technologist initials in PACS. Perform other related
technical patient care duties as assigned. Maintain room
assignments and keep work areas clean and orderly. Demonstrate
appropriate radiation safety practices and promote radiation safety
for patients and staff. Escort patients throughout the department
and provide exceptional customer service. Perform clerical duties
efficiently, timely, and accurately. Monitor workflow processes
utilizing PACS, image release, and CD burning. Assist in office
functions as needed and perform office tasks during off shifts.
Comply with and perform quality assurance duties as assigned.
Explain policies, procedures, and clerical functions to students as
directed. Non-Essential Functions: Perform related and
miscellaneous duties as assigned. Requirements Required for
