Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Required RN License Certifications: BCLS, ACLS Must-Have: 1. 1 Year of Experience in Med/Surg/Telemetry 2. 2 Years of Experience in Stepdown 3. Ability to Read Cardiac Strips Description: Registered Nurse needed for a Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit. This position is for night shifts, typically covering weekdays and some weekends. The patient-to-nurse ratio is usually 1:4 but may flex to 1:5 in emergencies. Limited holiday requests are permitted, with a preference for no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays. The contract length is for 13 weeks, with the possibility of extension. Required certifications include BCLS and ACLS. Skills needed include IV start and telemetry monitoring. Experience with telemetry and critical care management is essential. The unit cares for various patient diagnoses, predominantly cardiac cases, including those requiring interventional cardiology procedures. Nurses will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates should be able to manage various clinical responsibilities such as IV therapy and hemodialysis care. Staff will need to adapt to fluctuating patient acuity and provide comprehensive patient assessments. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to handle complex clinical situations and work effectively under pressure. Travel experience is not required for this position. This role does not include the provision of scrubs.
