(ICU), PCU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary

Required Must-Have: EPIC experience Description: Responsible for
overall nursing practice. Provides professional nursing care to
treat human responses to life-threatening problems, based on the
American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) Standards.
Responsible for assessment of patient needs, development of a plan
of care, implementation of nursing measures, and evaluation of the
effectiveness of nursing care and treatments. Protects, maintains,
and restores health for the pediatric through geriatric age
population. Recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and life-threatening
emergency situations and takes appropriate action. Ongoing
assessment for all critically ill patients promotes optimal
outcomes. Conducts a comprehensive health history and physical
assessment. Prioritizes patient problems and needs according to
actual and potential threats. Develops and implements a plan of
care based on ongoing assessments. Creates and updates a
prioritized problem list to meet critically ill patients' needs,
including discharge planning and appropriate referrals. Manages
life-threatening complications of critically ill patients based on
established policies and procedures and AACN standards. Implements
interventions to prevent life-threatening complications and
maintain airway, ventilation, hemodynamic stability, and stable
heart rhythm. Accepts responsibility and accountability for
maintaining knowledge and skills in critical care practice.
Maintains awareness of professional issues. Updates knowledge and
clinical skills on an ongoing basis. Stays current on concepts,
trends, scientific advances, biomedical equipment, and ethics
related to Critical Care Nursing. Ensures minimum qualifications of
the position are met at all times, including licensure and
certifications. Completes mandatory education and participates in
annual competency fairs. Assists with temporary pacemaker insertion
