Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred License: Registered with
the ARRT in Radiology Certifications: Meets the American Heart
Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support
(BLS) and renews BLS every two years. Must-Have: High School
diploma or equivalent. Completion of a specialized training program
in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Description: Prepare patients for
examinations and explain procedures. Respond to patient questions.
Perform diagnostic procedures for patients as ordered by
physicians. Possess knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and
physiology. Demonstrate knowledge of radiologic equipment and
safety hazards common to radiology. Communicate effectively and
follow written and verbal instructions. Identify and troubleshoot
equipment problems. Perform simple adjustments when necessary.
Perform patient care and technical duties accurately and timely.
Greet each patient in a pleasant manner. Review requests and
evaluate orders for appropriate examinations and diagnoses. Check
for two identifiers: Name and Date of Birth. Explain procedures in
understandable terms for patients. Contact appropriate individuals
for proper scheduling and orders. Prepare and position patients for
examinations. Determine and use proper technique to position
patients for views and examinations. Take correct views for
examinations. Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR rooms safely and
efficiently. Use CR readers and printers properly. Perform proper
start-up and shut down of equipment. Transfer images to PACS, scan
documents, and route them. Change priority to STAT or URGENT when
necessary. Assist the Radiologist or Fluoro Tech during
fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations. Move portable
radiographic equipment for various procedures. Use proper sterile
technique during examinations in operating rooms. Prepare IV and
oral contrast media for use. Administer contrast media as needed.
Document patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations, date, time
of study, and initials in PACS. Perform other related technical
patient care duties as assigned. Maintain room assignments and keep
work areas clean and orderly. Demonstrate appropriate radiation
safety practices. Promote radiation safety of patients and staff.
Escort patients throughout the department and provide excellent
customer service. Perform clerical duties accurately and in a
timely manner. Monitor workflow processes utilizing PACS, image
release, and CD burner. Assist in office functions as needed.
Perform office tasks during off shifts. Comply with quality
assurance duties as assigned. Explain policies, procedures, and
clerical functions to radiology students as directed. Perform
related and miscellaneous duties as assigned. Requirements Required
