ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Morgantown, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - PICU Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Day/night rotating shift schedule available • Minimum 2 full weekends (Friday-Sunday) required per month • 2 weekends required in a 4-week schedule period • Self-scheduling with block scheduling possible when unit needs are met • 2 years of PICU experience required - hard requirement • Must be comfortable taking adult patients when needed • Required certifications: BLS and PALS • Patient ratios: ICU 1:1-2, Stepdown 1:3 • Care for patients with congenital heart conditions, DKA, respiratory issues, neurosurgery patients, tracheostomies, ventilators, and G-tubes • Titrate sedation protocols and vasoactive drugs including Fentanyl, Versed, Precedex • Floating required within children's units (L&D, NICU, and Acute Peds) • Holiday work expected and integrated into permanent staff rotation schedule • No call requirements • Dress code: Dark gray (pewter) scrubs • Orientation includes EPIC training, competencies, equipment review, and 3 shifts with mentor • Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract • Electronic charting system: EPIC Facility: This children's hospital features a 20-bed PICU with an average daily census of around 15 patients, providing specialized pediatric intensive care services. The unit maintains 24/7 in-house pediatrician coverage with residents and advanced practice providers, plus respiratory therapy support for ventilators and other equipment.
