ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wheeling, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 PM • Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 PM • Weekend requirements include working 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday/Saturday/Sunday considered weekend shifts) • Patient ratios goal is 1:4, typically running 1:5, occasionally 1:6 • Required to float to Telemetry, Medical/Surgical units, or Pandemic Unit as needed with ratios up to 1:6-1:7 • Must wear navy blue scrubs (top and bottom) with navy scrub jackets, no hoodies • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently • Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix • Use Allscripts charting system and Pyxis medication dispensing • Manage patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, groin checks, and Tikosyn therapy • Self-scheduling allowed with 4 requested days off per month • Two-day orientation: first day includes 4 hours with HR and 8 hours on unit with preceptor, second day on unit with preceptor • Strict attendance policy: 2 occurrences of tardiness or call-offs results in termination • Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license and comply with 50-mile radius rule Facility: This healthcare facility features a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with both private and semi-private rooms, providing comprehensive cardiac and intermediate care services. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage, intensivist support, in-house IV team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The organization utilizes advanced telemetry monitoring systems and provides extensive support services to ensure quality patient care in an acute care setting.
