with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Bridgeport, West
Virginia, 26330! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN

weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2
years of experience required License: Active RN license required
Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Must be able to titrate
drips Description: The unit consists of 36 beds. The nursing ratios
for Med-Surg/Tele acuity are 1:5, potentially 1:6 only if
anticipating a discharge. For PCU acuity, the ratio is 1:4. Common
diagnoses or types of patients include cardiac patients, CR bands,
post-cath, AMI, post-operative lung surgeries after CCU,
respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post-PCI. The
unit has higher acuity than typical Telemetry units. Experience as
a Stepdown RN is preferred. Nurses are required to titrate drips
including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin,
heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg. A charge nurse is
available 24/7, with days not taking patients and nights taking
patients. CNA support is available, with an ideal ratio of 1 CNA
for every 9 patients. Team nursing is the approach, with 1 RN and 1
CNA covering 6 to 7 patients together. Only CPAP and BiPap are
used; respiratory therapy manages equipment. Phillips monitors are
utilized, and nurses must be able to read and interpret strips. The
unit works 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Travelers are required
to work every other weekend with both days and nights scheduled.
Holidays are included in the rotation with permanent staff.
Travelers may float to various units as needed. All nursing staff
must adhere to established dress code requirements, with specific
scrub colors designated for different roles. Unit/Department
specific orientation is provided for travelers. 5 Benefits of
