Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: State College, PA Agency: Thrive Staffing Pay: $1,842 to $2,036 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 13 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/15/2026 About the Position Job Title PA - RN - L&D - Days - Mount Nittany, State College City/State: State College, Pennsylvania Shift: Days 0645-1915; 3-12s per week, every other weekend Contract Length: 03/15/2026 Job Description: Responsible to Unit Director for overall nursing practice. Includes the responsibility for assessment of childbearing women (adolescence to middle adulthood), neonates, and family needs, the development of a plan of care to meet those needs, implementation of nursing interventions, and evaluation of nursing care based on outcomes for the population served. Responsibilities: Assisting women and infants to attain and maintain optimum health, including assessing patient and family's developmental level and health status. Performing initial assessment and stabilization of the neonate. Developing a plan of care based on identified physical and learning needs. Teaching self-care and/or the care of the newborn to patients and families. Promoting understanding of the influence of family relationships on health status. Identifying and intervening with vulnerable patients and families-at-risk to prevent potential developmental and health problems. Promoting an environment free of hazards to reproduction, growth and development, wellness, and promoting recovery from illness. Assisting patients and families to understand and cope with women's health issues and childbirth. Maintaining knowledge, skills, and competency in the care of women and infants. Requirements: Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required. Current Pennsylvania RN licensure. Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years. Holds the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification and renews NRP every two years. Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and renews ACLS every two years.
