Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: State College, PA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,290 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/15/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in State College, Pennsylvania, 16803! Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN licensure in Pennsylvania Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in Epic Willingness to support staff in the transition from Meditech to Epic Description: Responsible to the Unit Director for overall nursing practice. Includes responsibility for assessment of childbearing individuals, neonates, and family needs. Develops a plan of care to meet identified needs. Implements nursing interventions and evaluates nursing care based on outcomes for the population served. Education: Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Effectively functions as a team member and acts as a liaison between patients and staff. Supports and encourages effective communication skills. Job requires strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills. Communicates in a highly professional manner at all times. Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance when dealing with individuals. Uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when relating to patients, families, and co-workers. Essential Functions: Assists individuals and infants in attaining and maintaining optimum health. Assesses patient and family developmental levels, health status, and health history. Performs initial assessment and stabilization of the neonate. Develops a plan of care based on physical and learning needs. Teaches self-care and/or care of the newborn to patients and families. Assists families in achieving and maintaining a balance between personal growth needs and optimum family functioning. Promotes understanding of family relationships on health status. Identifies and intervenes with vulnerable patients and families to prevent potential developmental and health problems. Facilitates interaction between family members to promote bonding. Promotes an environment free of hazards to wellness and recovery from illness. Helps patients and families to understand and cope with women's health issues and childbirth. Accepts responsibility for maintaining knowledge, skills, and competency in caring for women and infants. Updates knowledge and clinical skills on an ongoing basis.
