Strong Neuro experience, proficiency with G-tubes, recent Epic
experience Description: The unit consists of 20 beds with a ratio
of 1:5-6 for floor patients. Any background hits need to be
disclosed at the time of submission. Common diagnoses include
Neurosciences, Deep Brain Stimulators, Stroke, Seizures,
Surgical/PostOp Spines, and Neurological Disorders. Experience in
titrating drips is not required as this is done by physician's
orders in a step-down setting. There may be protocols that allow
for titration, but education will be provided. Charge Nurse
responsibilities are available 24/7. There are nurse aides on this
unit, with a ratio of 1:7-10. Respiratory therapy is available
24/7. Registered Nurses are not required to have vent experience.
If there are floor vents, they are usually on a set setting and
managed by respiratory therapy and physicians. Telemetry is
available on this unit. Registered Nurses do not have to read
strips but must document that they verified monitor techs' strip
readings in the charting system. Weekend day positions are
available, typically consisting of shifts on Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday. Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation.
There may be floating requirements to other units within the
facility as needed. The dress code consists of any combination of
white and royal blue. Charting is done using an electronic health
