Registered Nurse (RN) | Ambulatory Care Location: State College, PA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,266 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Ambulatory Care RN in State College, Pennsylvania, 16803! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Perioperative Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour shifts; 0615-1445 Mon-Fri; no weekends, holidays, or call Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: CPR certification required Must-Have: Experience in perioperative nursing Description: Assesses and responds to the individual physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patient through personal observation and interaction. Acts as a patient advocate. Utilizes professional nursing skills and judgment; takes action to implement nursing care and treat the problems identified. Communicates patient assessments to the appropriate individuals ensuring the coordination of patient care. Demonstrates knowledge of diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, and EKG. Demonstrates skills in IV therapy. Transcribes and implements physicians' orders in an accurate and timely manner while admitting the patient efficiently. Documents in the patient clinical records via computer with accuracy and in a timely manner. Checks the required information on the patient record to comply with the correct surgical procedures. Completes final review of the patient record to ensure all paperwork and activities such as site marking are complete and that the anesthesiologist has spoken to the patient and family. Provides appropriate and knowledgeable instruction/education to patients and their families. Decrements supplies according to policy. Utilizes supplies, equipment, and resources to contain costs without compromising patient care. Assists with housekeeping duties such as cleaning and making beds as needed for patients. When assigned to PACU, uses knowledge and critical thinking to assess and give appropriate nursing care. Recognizes patients' needs; maintains airway, monitors vital signs, utilizes correct medication to control pain, and consults with surgeon and anesthesiologist if any difficulties arise that affect the patient. Evaluates patient's status using discharge criteria to safely move the patient onto Phase 2. Is familiar with the transfer process and procedure to send a patient. When functioning as a float nurse, maintains communications between all areas and is available to assist staff as needed to maintain flow. Relieves staff for breaks and lunch in a timely manner and utilizes staff in a cost-effective manner. Works as assigned in pain management and eye laser procedure rooms. Is familiar with anesthesia supplies; assists with nerve blocks; knows the location of emergency carts and medications that may be needed in an emergency. Participates in committee meetings, offers suggestions for improvements, and seeks guidance and direction when needed.
