Job Description Job Description Join our dynamic team as an Occupational Therapist in a PRN capacity! Pediatric experience is essential. Work Schedule: This is a PRN position that involves traveling to clients' residences. The Occupational Therapist will deliver therapy services to clients promptly, following physician directives. Responsibilities include documenting client progress, collaborating with families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The role also involves participating in agency meetings and providing training for staff on a regular basis. Key Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations and provide Occupational Therapy based on physician orders. Oversee and guide Occupational Therapy assistants and rehabilitation aides in client care activities. Plan, implement, coordinate, and assess the Occupational Therapy services offered by the department, including scheduling and documentation. Deliver therapy services as prescribed, which includes: Assessing each client and initiating prescribed treatments. Reporting client progress to the attending physician. Consulting with physicians regarding any changes in clients' conditions during treatment. Re-evaluating clients in collaboration with the attending physician. Ensure consistent delivery of Occupational Therapy services and maintain performance standards for assistants. Document treatment records, including: Physician orders. Treatment objectives. Care plans. Procedures and baseline clinical data. Progress evaluations and client responses to treatment. Any other relevant information as per facility policies. Engage in client care planning meetings as necessary to coordinate care. Communicate with the Director of Clinical Services and other team members regarding client progress and concerns. Manage personnel functions within the Occupational Therapy Department, including: Developing and maintaining work schedules. Initiating in-service training programs. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings. Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Services annually to align departmental objectives with organizational goals. Assist in continuing education initiatives for staff as coordinated by the Staff Development Coordinator. Attend mandatory in-services and complete assigned online training modules. Ensure uninterrupted Occupational Therapy services by arranging for substitutes during staff absences, excluding holidays. Contribute to infection prevention and safety programs within the department. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services. Adhere to the Occupational Therapy Practice Act in the state. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program recognized by relevant medical and occupational therapy associations. Must hold a valid license or registration as an Occupational Therapist in the state. At least one year of experience as an Occupational Therapist. Possession of a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation. Ability to comprehend medical terminology relevant to Occupational Therapy for effective communication with clients, staff, and physicians, as well as for report preparation. Coordination and dexterity to handle tools and materials while instructing clients. Sufficient strength and endurance to meet the physical demands of the role. Proficiency in using computers and electronic devices for tasks such as documentation and timekeeping.
