Anything else specific 36- RatiosWhat are your nursing ratios?Typical ratios 1:5-6Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?)"What certifications are required for your floor?Ex: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS""BLS ONS/ONCC (Chemotherapy Biotherapy) certified would be a PLUS! "Common diagnosis / Types of patients"What are common diagnosises or types of patients that you care for on your unit or in your department? "General MedSurg patients, some Post-OPs: lap chole, lap appy - no post-op ortho, some oncology patients w/ complications (neutropenic precautions, pneumonia, infections, etc), perm nurses will administer chemo, lots of chest tubes, malignant patients often go home with PleurX chest tubes, so experience with these is a huge plus! Occasional psych patients who may be 1:1 with a sitterExperience or 'Must have' skills"Please indicate any experience that travelers absolutely MUST have experience with to work on your unit?Is there any experience you prefer travelers to have, but are okay if they don't have the experience?Are you okay with first time travelers?"Are RN's required to titrate drips "Do you titrate any drips on your unit (Heparin, insulin, nitro, etc)?Does your unit take any set rate cardiac gtts (amio, dopamine, dobutamine, etc.)?"Common titratable &/or set rate drips"What drips do you titrate? What drips are set rate? "The only drip would be Heparin - No cardiac dripsAre there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RN's required to read their own strips? "Phillips monitors - They have a central monitor tech for the entire hospital; however, RN's do need to be able to read & interpret stripsCharge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?"Is there a charge nurse, lead, or supervisor available 24/7?Do they take a patient assignment? Is there a House Supervisor in house 24/7?"Charge Nurse 24/7.
