Full-Time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Non-Exempt

your career with UPMC?\n \n Purpose: The CRNA provides anesthetic
care for all patients in cooperation with the supervising
physician, following Department of Anesthesiology standards and
hospital policies. They administer anesthesia, monitor patients'
reactions to sedatives and anesthetic agents, and inform the
anesthesiologist of any adverse conditions that may threaten
patient safety. \n \n Responsibilities: \n \n Administer anesthesia
and related care, including pre-anesthetic preparation, induction,
maintenance, emergence, post-anesthesia care, and peri-anesthesia
support. \n Assumes responsibility and is accountable for
controlled substances according to department and hospital policy
and State and federal guidelines \n Assists with the teaching and
evaluation of newly hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs. \n Performs
according to established policies, procedures, and regulatory
standards. Review appropriate documentation for informed consent
and identify appropriate surgical site with operating room staff
and surgeon in accordance with departmental and regulatory
compliance standards \n Participate in the Quality Improvement (QI)
process through documentation, incident reporting, evaluation,
education, and implementation. \n \n \n \n Graduate of an
accredited nurse anesthesia education program required. \n
Knowledgeable regarding controlled substance policies in accordance
with Federal and State laws required. \n \n \n Licensure,
Certifications, and Clearances: \n \n Currently licensed as a
Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required. \n
Board Certified, Recertified or eligible by the Council on
Certification of Nurse Anesthetists required. \n CPR required based
on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills
demonstration component within 30 days of hire. \n AHA-approved
ACLS/PALS certifications as required by institution of employ upon
hire. \n Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR) \n Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) \n
Registered Nurse (RN) \n Act 33 with renewal \n Act 34 with renewal
\n Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal \n \n \n UPMC is an Equal
