ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Morgantown, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on weekends • Holiday rotation required • 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with clinical associate assistance • 24-bed stepdown unit with all beds monitored • Care for medical/surgical/trauma patients including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic fractures, and complex trauma cases • Manage respiratory compromised patients with BiPAP, blood gas interpretation, tracheostomies, and chronic vent dependent patients • Provide care for reconstructive plastic surgery with microvascular free flaps and advanced diabetic management • Handle complex wound management and general surgical interventions • Titrate drips including cardizem, labetalol, amiodarone (no sedative drips) • Perform 24-hour hemodynamic monitoring • Basic EKG interpretation required (telemetry technicians read strips) • Floating on rotational basis with other staff members • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS • Royal blue scrubs required • EPIC charting system • 2 shift cancellation policy per 13-week contract • Strong assessment skills and adaptability to fast-paced environment required Facility: This healthcare facility features a 24-bed stepdown unit with spacious private rooms equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring capabilities and 11 rooms with in-ceiling lifts for patient mobilization. The unit serves as an important component of a Level 1 Trauma Center, providing specialized care for complex medical, surgical, and trauma patients. The facility offers exceptional learning opportunities for nursing staff and maintains advanced technology including video monitoring for patient safety and comprehensive telemetry capabilities.
