Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details - Location: Morgantown, WV (ZIP 26506) – West Virginia nursing jobs - Healthcare Setting: 7 East Trauma & General Surgery Inpatient Unit (Stepdown & Floor) - Unit: Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center – nationally recognized - Assignment Start Date: November 10, 2025 - Assignment End Date: February 9, 2026 - Contract Duration: 13-week travel nurse assignment - Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week - Nursing Shift: 12-hour weekend nights (Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday), holidays as scheduled - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1860 - $2000 - Charting System: EPIC electronic health records Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (open to out-of-state candidates; licensure assistance available) - BLS certification required - Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in a cardiac stepdown or stepdown unit - Proficiency in complex wound care, drains, medical devices, traumatic injuries, chest tubes, respiratory support, TBI, and spinal cord injuries - Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips - COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered) - Must have a driver's license address located more than 50 miles from the facility Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities - Deliver direct patient care to trauma, general surgery, bariatric, and cardiac stepdown patients - Manage complex wound care, drains, chest tubes, and respiratory support devices - Monitor and validate cardiac rhythms; titrate non-pressor drips (such as insulin, Cardizem, heparin, PCA) - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including care management, surgical/medical services, and rehabilitation - Float to similar units (floor/stepdown) as needed for clinical support - Maintain accurate nursing documentation using EPIC - Adhere to unit dress code (Royal Blue scrubs) Apply now to join our healthcare team in Morgantown, WV and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
