For more than a century, UPMC Magee has been caring for women through all stages of their lives, and we are looking for the next talented employee to join our team. /n The Emergency Department is a state-of-the-art, 22-bed Level 3 Trauma unit that opened to the public in 2014. The ED handles critically ill patients and other emergency medical issues, including OB/GYN, geriatric, and medical-surgical including bariatric, orthopedic, oncology, and stroke patients. The majority of ED nurses at Magee are trained to perform forensic exams for sexual assault as well. Patient volume and acuity are variable and can change quickly, making the ED an extremely fast-paced, unpredictable environment where rapid problem-solving is necessary to address evolving needs and priorities. /n What can you Expect as a Professional Staff Nurse? /n The Professional Staff Nurse provides highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. A role that requires independent judgment, fluent communication, and candid partnership, the Professional Staff Nurse establishes relationships with physicians, other care providers, patients, and patients’ families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. /n As a Professional Staff Nurse and a member of the care delivery team, you will set the standards for the level and quality of nursing care and possess authority and accountability for its provision. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
