Medical/Surgical Urology unit, 6/7 Pavilion! Shadyside Hospital is
a supportive and high acuity level facility that will support and

/n 6/7 Pavilion is a Medical-Surgical unit that provides care for
surgical urology patients, surgical oncology patients, ENT
patients, and various medical patients. Our patient population's
variety provides a broad knowledge base of medical and surgical
patients. Most of our urological patients are diagnosed with renal,
bladder, and/or prostate disease. We receive patients directly from
the recovery room, the emergency room, and direct admissions. /n
6/7 Pavilion is a teaching unit and our nurses work closely with
interns, residents, and fellows. Nurses’ input is valued and
respected in our unit. 6/7 Pavilion welcomes both new and
experienced nurses. Our more experienced nurses are a great
resource for new nurses starting their careers. The RNs on 6/7 Pav
are encouraged to attend med/surg-related conferences and

of pay for a non-BSN Professional Staff Nurse is $31.60/hour. /n

is required. /n/t /n/t - /n/t An Associates Degree in Nursing, BSN,
or MSN is required. /n/n/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Graduate Nurses that are
eligible for the State Board Licensure will be considered for this
position with their Temporary Practice Permit. /n/t/t /n/t /n/t
/n/t - /n/t Patient Care Technician or Student Nurse Internships
are preferred. /n/t /n/t - /n/t The individual must be able to
demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care
and/or interact appropriately with the ages of the patients served
by his/her assigned unit as specified below. /n/t /n/t - /n/t They
must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and
development over the life span and possess the ability to assess
data reflective of the patients status and interpret the
appropriate information needed to identify each patient's
requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide
the care needs as described in the department policy and
procedures. /n/t /n/t - /n/t Ability to establish and maintain
positive, caring relationships with executives, managers,
physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff,
other departments, and patients/families. /n/t /n/t - /n/t Ability
to work productively and effectively within a complex environment,
and handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.
/n/t /n/t - /n/t Good clinical judgment with critical thinking,
analytical and problem-solving abilities is required as related to

visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking,

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: /n/n /n/t - /n/t Current
licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) either in the
state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a
licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is
located. /n/t /n/t - /n/t UPMC-approved national certification is
preferred. /n/t /n/t - /n/t Basic Life Support (BLS) OR
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required based on AHA
standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration
