Details on the bonus would be given at the time of an offer, if chosen.As a Certified Nursing Assistant, (CNA) you will perform many basic care tasks for residents including all Activities of Daily Living (ALDs) such as transfers, grooming, dressing, bathing, eating, and exercising. They also assist the nursing staff with medical tasks like emptying foley catheters, measuring intake/output, monitoring vitals with medical equipment, and reporting patient behavior and wellbeing. UPMC Seneca Place, part of the UPMC Seneca medical campus; is a skilled nursing facility located minutes away from Penn Hills, the Parkway East, and Route 22.Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Provide direct resident care and physical support for residents, as directed by the RN/LPN, with all activities of daily living including but not limited to personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
  • Recording weights, intake and output, and vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested, and report changes in condition to nurse.
  • Document in the medical record according to established procedures.
  • Deliver resident nourishments and assist with feeding as needed, fill water pitchers, and assist to pass and collect meal trays on the unit as directed.
  • Provide feedback to the RN/LPN regarding resident care and reporting changes in resident status in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an environment conducive to resident safety and recovery including, but not limited to, completing safety checks, keeping the department and resident rooms clean and organized, cleaning department specific equipment, changing bed linens, emptying linen hampers, keeping hallways clear of equipment, and returning equipment to proper storage.
  • Timely responds to resident needs and calls in a timely manner including call bell response and communicating needs to RN/LPN as needed.
  • Acquire and distribute all necessary supplies and equipment to facilitate proper resident care delivery including, but not limited to setting up resident care equipment within the scope of the nursing assistant position, stocking resident rooms, and supplying unit supply areas.
  • Establish appropriate and effective communication strategies with the residents and nursing team while fostering professional and respectful interpersonal relationships.
  • Contribute to the universal unit activities including, but not limited to answer phone calls and transporting residents on and off the unit.
  • Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Completion of state approved Certified Nursing Assistant class and examination
    • Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques
    • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writingLicensure/Certifications:Current PA Certified Nursing Assistant certification required Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required within 30 days Act 34 and Older Adult Protective Services Act clearance (when required) as neededUPMC is an equal opportunity employer.
