Completes daily balancing of cash drawer and credit card machine on a daily basis.Performs general clerical duties as needed including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, typing, scanning and mailing. Responsible for training and monitoring registration staffs performance. Completes weekly audit of no show patients and cancels account in CPSI system.Notifies Medical Records and coding of no show accounts cancelled.Schedules staff to make sure the registration department runs efficiently. Interviews and tests potential new hires in the registration department.Opens mail Daily- sorts and distributes mail to appropriate departments. When Patient Service Coordinator is out, runs a tape of checks received in the mail and stamps back of checks. Submits checks and tape to Accounts Receivable Specialist for posting and deposit.Maintains patient confidentiality, has access to patient information used within Advanced Surgical Hospital that relates to his or her job description which is minimally necessary to accomplish the intended purpose of the use of disclosure.Performs other duties as assigned by manager. QualificationsEDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. LICENSURE: Not applicable.EXPERIENCE: One to two years related experience or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must possess good oral and written skills, must be able to communicate with hospital contacts both on the telephone and directly, and effectively communicate with all age groups, populations, and individuals within the hospital.COMPUTER/TYPING SKILLS: Must become familiar with the hospital computer system and office applications.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises Registration Staff.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to perform frequent sitting, walking, and standing, lifting of object up to 50 pounds, kneeling, crouching, stooping and squatting, twisting of hand and wrist, reaching. Motor coordination and manual dexterity required. Ability to see and hear with or without mechanical devices.WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature changes. May be exposed to: chemicals; hazardous waste, radiation sources/fumes; communicable diseases, distasteful patient care activities. Wear protective clothing and/or equipment as determined by hospital policy. CONTINUING EDUCATION: Consistently seeks out continuing education activities relevant to practice area and needed to maintain licensure.
