Job Description Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a Shift Manager for a large steel manufacturing facility near Weirton, WV. Job Description : The Operations Shift Manager is responsible for utilizing personnel efficiently, coordinating material movement, ensuring quality standards are being met, and the workforce is performing in a safe manner. Reacts to repair, production, and/or quality issues in a timely manner to maximize the life of equipment (increased reliability) and to minimize the cost associated with upkeep of the equipment. Strong communication and people skills are necessary, as well as working a rotating 12-hour schedule including weekends and holidays. Responsibilities: Directs hourly workforce on Tin Mill production units (Continuous Anneals, Batch Anneal, Temper Mills, Tin/Chrome Platers, Side Trimmers, and Packaging) on a shift basis. Maintains production at or above specified target for the assigned area. Works closely with production planning and logistics to remove barriers to production Coordinates and helps Environmental Shift manager with operational issues. Troubleshoots and addresses quality issues on production units. Coordinates repairs with the Maintenance Shift Manager and the MT---s in the area. Develops trouble-shooting skills of hourly workforce. Preliminary accident investigation/documentation on back turns Communicate ongoing issues to Tin Mill operations/maintenance/quality managers Requirements: High School GED Microsoft Office software/systems trained or capable Tabware, Internet/E-mail trained or capable Preferred: Associates/Bachelor ---s Degree in a technical field 2 years steel industry experience with equivalent degree or 5 years flat roll steel supervisory experience Company Description Our mission is to provide the most professional Human Resources and Staffing services available to assist organizations in meeting their strategic objectives and help individuals reach their personal and professional goals.
