Job Description Job Description Job Summary: The Estimator will provide a high-level of service to Account Executives. As a part of the sales team, the Estimator is a critical part of ensuring that the company can meet requirements as defined by the customer at a price that is fair to all parties. Duties/Responsibilities : Customer Service Become familiar with their assigned customers and their specific needs. Act as a liaison between the customer and the company. Process orders received by any means of communication. Obtain drawings and specification information needed to produce the products. Secure documented customer approval for samples and exceptions Assist QA and Production in the investigation of customer complaints. Identify systems requiring improvements. S ales Quotations Identify material and order specification requirements. Develop complete, accurate, and timely quotations. “NO QUOTE” the job when it is determined that API does not have the ability to manufacture the item. Work with the Production and/or QA team to develop special quotations. Maintaining individual quotation files. Determine whether a quote or an order is Aviation, Space, or Defense (ASD) related. Determine whether a quote or an order is controlled by ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). O r der Processing Prepare and process standard, “F.A.S.T.”, “RUSH IN SHOP”, “CHANGE”, and “DATE- LOK” orders Review part prices to verify that they are correct. Reviewing information appearing on an order to ensure compliance with the customer’s requirements or customer acceptance of what will be provided. Obtain and forward to QA documented evidence of customer approval of exceptions taken to drawings, specifications, or other requirements. Identify special documentation, processing, or handling requirements. Verify that all information necessary to manufacture a part is available and understood by all parties involved. Solicit estimated ship dates from Production and convey this information, along with any price changes, to the customer. Expedite orders when requested by the customer if possible. Ensure that customer purchase order notes, exceptions, specifications, and/or process planning notes are clearly indicated on the job traveler, drawing, or worksheet. Ensure that the drawing used for the order is for the correct part number and revision level. Clearly specify any notes to be added to the drawing, job traveler, or sales order computer files to ensure that Order Entry incorporates them into the order/job. Convey special marking or packaging instructions by way of the job traveler, drawing, or attachments. Determine the finishing services required to meet the customer’s expectations, and document those requirements on the drawing, job traveler, or attachment so that finishing personnel are aware of specific requirements. Obtain customer information regarding the packaging, labeling, shipping, or other transportation needs, and convey this information to production. Ensure that customers’ addresses (billing and shipping) are current, accurate, and complete, and notify shippers of any address changes. Required Skills/Abilities: • Must be able to read blueprints and/or other technical drawings • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel). • Experience with Epicor or other CRM preferred. S upervisory Responsibilities: None E ducation and Experience: High school diploma required, associate’s degree in business, engineering or related technical field preferred. At least three years of experience in a technical sales field or equivalent. P hysical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
