Job Description
Do you have a desire to help the world's best Navy? Are you someone
who takes pride in their work? Nuclear Test Engineering is
responsible for the maintenance and operation of several different
types of equipment used in a manufacturing process located at the
Bettis Atomic Laboratory. The Associate Electrical Engineer is
expected to gain technical proficiency and familiarity in the
fields of instrumentation and control, data acquisition, and
control software programming necessary to operate furnaces, vacuum
systems and variety of other manufacturing equipment. The candidate
will trouble shoot, develop repair procedures, maintain
configuration control, prepare operating procedures and drawings,
and work with outside vendors to fulfill service contract
requirements. Additionally, the candidate will work with other team
members to research, design, develop, procure and deploy new
complex integrated control systems and equipment used for general
and specialized systems. Procurement of equipment will require
planning, designing, reviewing submittals and designs,
participating in acceptance testing and overseeing the
installation.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an
Engineering or science related field; or a Master's degree from an
accredited college or university in an Engineering or science
related field
Preferred Skills
Ability to program in function block language and ladder logic
control software.
Familiar with HMI or control station software and PLC
programming
A general understanding of pressure systems,
Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) loops, Silicon Controlled
Rectifiers (SCR) functionality and vacuum systems.

Pay Range
$62,000.00 - $94,900.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual
salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as
well as market and business considerations
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of
Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned
subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel
are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic
Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A.
Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S.
Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
