The Senior Engineer - Turbocharger Development will provide expert-level technical guidance while supporting various aspects of the design, development, validation, application and reliability of turbochargers and turbocharger systems. Applications include current and future Wabtec diesel engine products, external turbocharger sales and application of turbomachinery for adjacent technologies. This position is responsible for assisting in the strategic planning for turbocharger product development, leading complex technical development projects, communicating project status and technology strategy across business units and management levels, and ensuring overall adherence to Wabtec technical standards throughout the development process.
What are we looking for?

  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering field
  
  
• 
  Minimum 7 years professional experience related to the design, validation, application or field service of mechanical components or systems
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated understanding and experience related to typical design and validation processes such as FMEA and tollgate-style review.
  
  
• 
  Willingness to travel (10%)
  
  
  What will be your key responsibilities?
  The Senior Engineer will provide expert technical guidance and influence for a team of peer engineers engaged in the development of turbocharger systems. Provide technical consultation for effective strategic business-level product development planning. Act as the design lead, provide guidance for the definition of system and component design, validate plans to ensure deliver of fully validated products. Act as design reviewer in conjunction with Principal Engineers to ensure ongoing development projects are conducted in accordance with Wabtec design standards. Ensure accurate flow-down of technical requirements from higher-level sources for development projects undertaken by the team.
