Environmental EngineerCarpenter Technology Corporation is a

Carpenter's Latrobe Specialty Metals operations, based in Latrobe,
PA., was acquired by Carpenter Technology in 2012 and manufactures
high-performance specialty alloys serving aerospace, energy and
other demanding markets.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER
- Provides leadership and technical guidance in the environmental
affairs area. Assures that operations are conducted in a manner
consistent with compliance related standards and evaluates the
effectiveness of environmental programs to assure optimum
results.
- Leads the development and implementation of programs that
proactively identify, evaluate, and improve environmental
performance associated with Carpenter's processes.
- Proactively identify, develop, and lead the implementation of
strategies for environmental matters, and understand the impact of
regulatory compliance. Anticipate, identify, and evaluate
environmental issues in the workplace and lead the implementation
of appropriate regulatory or engineering response.
- Responsible for the management of project teams related to
water remediation and waste reduction activities.
- Develops and leads the implementation of environmental policies
and procedures consistent with regulations. Coaches and mentors
less experienced staff members in the Environmental Affairs
area
- Maintains the ISO14001 certification and Environmental
Management System (EMS)
- Maintain Title V compliance and Storm-water management along
with associated reports and certifications
- Perform all other duties and special projects as
assigned.REQUIRED FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER
- High School Diploma
- 7 years of relevant environmental experience. PREFERRED FOR THE
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER
- Four Year college degree
- Advanced understanding of engineering principles, standards,
methods, and practices. Advanced knowledge of water remediation
practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well
organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate
decisions.
- Willing to work in a fast paced, every changing work
environment.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing-oriented environment
with frequently changing priorities.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate
decisions.
- Experience with conceptually developing and managing large
assignments including responsibility for the appropriate standards
and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving
skills with advanced Project management skills and designCarpenter
