Overview



















Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is hiring a Project Manager for our new Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Practice in our Monroeville, PA office. You will be an integral part of the growth of this new Practice, working with the SUE Practice Lead to build the group from the ground up. You will work with the SUE Practice Lead to identify client service opportunities including participating in business development and marketing efforts, and implementing marketing and sales strategies to provide sustainable growth of the Practice. You will work with other Practices within CEC to provide an integrated service approach to addressing our client's needs. You will provide technical oversight to include safety, quality assurance and quality control of work product, monitor field and office procedures assuring a consistent work product and client service. You will assist with the identification and recruitment of key personnel and will mentor and train the staff to assure professional growth and development.



























Qualifications

• 10+ years of SUE, utility locating and utility coordination experience;
• Professional Engineer or Surveyor Registration;
• Knowledge of technological advances, principles, techniques and practices of SUE;
• Ability to use SUE equipment including Ground Penetration Radar (GPR), truck-mounted vacuum equipment, and electromagnetic detection devices;
• Experience training field technicians in the use of SUE equipment and methods;
• Experience working with utility companies to coordinate design conflict resolution plans;
• Network of existing contacts;
• Ability to assist in the growth of a SUE Practice using business development techniques;
• Skill in planning, direction, supervising and managing multiple teams and/or individual personnel and their activities;
• Ability to plan manpower and equipment needs for use in the preparation of SUE proposals and cost estimates;
• Provide technical oversight of projects to include quality assurance and quality control of procedures and work product. Promote and monitor field and office procedures to assure a high level of consistent work product and service quality;
• Promote and monitor the comprehensive safety program for the SUE Practice;
• Provide mentoring and training to staff to assure professional growth and development. Assist with the identification and recruiting of key personnel; and
