Job Description:
Styropek is a leading Petrochemical Company in North America. We
are also the largest EPS (Expandable Polystyrene) producer in the
America's. Our certified products are utilized across many
applications, including building, packaging, and automotive. We are
part of the Alpek group, the largest petrochemical company in
America, a subsidiary of the Alfa group, and are currently seeking
talented individuals for our Environmental Engineer position at our
Monaca, PA facility. Responsibilities :
- Water - manage regulatory reports and requirements related to:
- PA Safe Drinking Water Act as it pertains to site potable water
production;
- National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and
Water Quality Management Permit (WQM);
- Chapter 110 Water Withdrawal including American Chemistry
Council (ACC).
- Waste - manage and prepare Hazardous Waste reports to:
- Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) large quantity
generator requirements;
- PADEP required 25R and 26R forms.
- Manage agency regulatory inspection as needed.
- Regulatory Tracking - stay up to date with applicable state and
federal regulations.
- Manage requirements related to site environmental legacy
matters.
- Serve as RC/ISO 14001 representative.
- Lead and participate in Facility Self Assessments and
audits.
- Provide support for Asbestos Regulatory Reporting including:
- Prepare and submit annual notification for unplanned work;
- Maintain abatement project documentation;
- Provide project-specific guidance on sampling, monitoring, and
abatement techniques
- Manage key environmental guidance related to site capital and
expense projects.
- Manage key environmental contractors.
- Presentation of EH&S materials and training to employees
applicable to this role.
- Develop direct reports to their maximum growth potential.
- Drive to improve regulatory compliance and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance in areas related to non-routine
work. Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Natural or Applied Sciences or equivalent,
with a maximum of 8+ years of practical experience or 2-year
technical school diploma with typically 10+ years of related
practical experience.
- Certification or registration in a professional development
program.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of environmental and safety
regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to meet required deadlines of critical
regulatory reports.
- Demonstrated leadership/supervisory capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication & organizational
skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results within a team
environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to Responsible Care ® and alignment
with Styropek's values,
- Understanding and familiarity with industrial sustainability
practices.
- Experience with ISO management systems.
- Strong knowledge of safety prevention practices with
demonstrated application resulting in reduced injuries.
