Job DescriptionJob Title: Claims Adjuster Department: Claims
Reports to: Claims ManagerLocation: ReportSchedule: Monday -
Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 PM ESTS and special hours possible and some
10AM - 2PM EST SaturdaysJob Description SummaryThis position is
responsible for adjudicating claims within the Vehicle Service
Contract (VSC) coverages by verifying the issues with the repair
facility and to ensure the timely, accurate and efficient
completion of claims. This position is also responsible for
cross-departmental teamwork, and high-quality customer service both
internally and externally.Essential Duties and
ResponsibilitiesAnswer incoming claim calls within a 30 second
average or lessEffectively manage timely opening, handling, and
accurate completion of all claimsEffectively utilize all tools,
technologies and reference material leading to accurate claim
decisions. Verify the best pricing for parts and labor times and
avoiding unnecessary labor overlapMaintain a proactive approach
with the handling of your workload, especially during peak volume
situationsEnsure all claims are handled in compliance with the
claim's process and/or your manager's instructionsPromptly handle
all extraordinary claim, customer or client issues to a successful
conclusion and maintain positive working relationships both
internally and externallyContinually learn to stay up-to-date on
new, evolving automotive technologyHandle special projects or other
duties as assignedCompetencies: Strong organizational skills
including the ability to efficiently complete daily tasks in a
timely and accurate manner. Attention to detail and multi-tasking
skills are critical. Must have the ability to change direction and
adjust priorities frequently during the day and apply your
extensive hands-on, retail automotive mechanical experience.
Continually improve your own work process for increased efficiency,
accuracy, and lower claims expense. Can anticipate and adjust
workload especially during high volume situations without
sacrificing service, accuracy, or quality.Communication: Strong
interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Must be
able to effectively communicate with customers, both internally and
externally, agents, clients, and Claims Management at all levels
within the organization. Must be able to maintain a professional
demeanor even during adverse situations.Excellent Client / Customer
Service: Must be able to ensure all shop and customer related
issues are handled in a fast, fair, and courteous manner and
escalate an issue to your manager when necessary.Strong
decision-making skills: Must be able to analyze all available
information and formulate sound decisions and/or produce an
accurate adjustment of a customer's claim to effectively resolve a
variety of issues.Analytical skills: Must be able to measure,
diagnose, and resolve problems with accuracy and attention to
detail.Education and/or Experience: Must have at a minimum a high
school diploma with previous automotive mechanical knowledge within
a vehicle repair facility/dealership. Must have the ability to work
in a fast- paced call center, as well as the ability to identify
and remove obstacles to ensure efficient workflow.Computer Skills:
Must be proficient using computers and with software applications
including, but not limited to Microsoft Office and claims
administration systems. Must be able to type at least 25 words per
