is seeking a qualified individual to fill a newly created Finance
Specialist (Fiscal Specialist II) position. This position is housed
within the Business Operations Team and will report to the Finance
Director. The Finance Specialist serves as the primary financial
liaison to the Academic Affairs Team (Undergraduate and Graduate)
and will provide back-up to other departments as needed. This
position requires the ability to learn university policies and
procedures and operate within said guidelines. Accuracy and
attention to detail are critical, as incumbent will be tasked with
keeping accurate financial and purchasing records. The incumbent is
expected to work with minimal supervision and be able to manage,
prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously. The
incumbent must be detail oriented, thrive in a fast-paced
environment and enjoy being a team player. Job Summary Creates,
monitors, analyzes, and reconciles budgets and purchasing services.
Processes and reconciles financial transactions; prepares
disbursement requests and financial reports. Resolves transactions
issues. Collaborates to resolve transfer issues, test new transfer
processes, and resolve complex payment issues. Essential Functions
Essential Functions This position will be responsible for: ·
Developing, monitoring and reconciling budgets · Preparing and
processing payments, tracking expenditures, and reconciling
accounts while ensuring policies and procedures are being met ·
Processing and reconciling journal entries, disbursements and
invoices · Purchasing and procurement · Gathering data necessary to
process individual compensation plans and route for processing ·
Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve
transaction issues Physical Effort Little physical effort required.
