Job Description UPMC Somerset is seeking a Diagnostic Technologist to join their team of life-changers! This position will work Fridays and Saturdays 7pm-7am and 2 daylight shifts Tuesdays-Thursdays. As a Diagnostic Technologist, you'll perform imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. /n UPMC is excited to offer a generous sign-on bonus of $10,000 with a 2-year commitment. Responsibilities: /n /n - Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for procedures. /n - Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols. /n - Document patient history in electronic records as needed. /n - Administer PO and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy. /n - Ensure exams are coded, tracked, networked to ISITE, and charges entered. /n - Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols. /n - Use complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, and documentation. /n - Interact with patients and co-workers with care, respect, and teamwork. /n - Perform technical procedures with independent judgment and appropriate radiation use. /n - Communicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to ease their fears. /n /n - Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date./n /n - Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified. /n /n /n /n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: /n /n - ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date. /n - ARRT Certificate /n - ARRT Radiography /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) /n - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire /n - Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal /n - Act 33 with renewal /n - Act 34 with renewal /n - Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal /n /n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
