Job SummaryAs a Custodian Coordinator, you will administer the Master Sanitation Program to ensure HBC meets or exceeds all federal, state and local regulatory agency requirements. Job Description

• Experience Required: 1 to 3 years; 2 years of experience as custodian; Must be familiar with application of sanitation standards and procedures
• Experience Desired: Computer Outlook/Excel/Word, Prior commercial cleaning/janitorial/maintenance experience
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds

  • Assign daily custodian activities according to established procedures to ensure a high level of facility cleanliness.
  • Ensure all shifts are effectively staffed during vacation, personal and other scheduled days off.
  • Ensure the Saturday before a holiday is properly staffed.
  • Record and report hours worked for the custodian staff to HR by noon each Thursday.
  • Order janitorial supplies.
  • Ensure Witt Pest Control and McGinley Cleaning Companies meet expectations for contracted services.
  • Maintain interior of building to ensure sanitation levels are met.
  • Pick up all cardboard and plastic in aisles.
  • Sweep dock doors throughout the day and check pallet staging area for debris.
  • Address any wet or dry spills in accordance with company and safety guidelines.
  • Keep front of the aisles swept and free of all debris (wood, paper, plastic, etc.).
  • Empty trash cans at the ends of the aisles.
  • Dump hoppers at the end of day. Clean out bucket and mop.
  • Ensure that each time the hopper is emptied, the filter is vibrated for two cycles before operating the sweeper.
  • Empty recyclables daily; bail bailer when full.
  • Maintain front dock aisle on a regular basis throughout the day.
  • Empty and clean sweeper daily.
  • Ensure all sweepers are left in the sweep/clean area with the hoppers raised and the locking device in place, showing that all accumulated debris on the main brush has been removed.
  • Maintain operating equipment in clean and working condition for the next operator.
  • Remove snow and spread salt at building entrances and on sidewalks.
  • Clean jack staging area and employee locker room.
